Like a CHEETAH!
So it’s been hard to write this post. I’ve been putting it off, putting it off, and just generally procrastinating. But I don’t think I can any more. Kind of because I’ve been doing this (trying to become an artiste) for so long and I haven’t reached exactly where I’ve wanted to be in the past few years.
I recently got in touch with Miss Makeba Woods and cut a pop single called Cheetah in 2021. She’s a pretty famous vocal producer, who worked with Rihanna on her first few albums. It was definitely an experience travelling to Atlanta for the first time during the pandemic. But, in a couple of weeks the music video for Cheetah will be out :). After years of having the dream to become an international artiste doing all the genres I love like Rock, Pop, R&B and Dance music, I’m kinda finally getting the chance to fulfill it. It almost seems surreal. I thought and dreamed about it for so long..but I just never knew anyone that could help me fulfill this dream. But…it’s all been a little disappointing as well that it happened during a time like this.
Like many artistes, the pandemic has halted my progress. There are just so much more things I could have been doing or done if the pandemic hadn’t happened. Sometimes it really depresses me. All artistes have a vision of how they wish things would turn out. And when they don’t just like anyone, we get pretty disappointed. A lot of people see us musicians, and they think everything is great and everything is easy. The reality is, it isn’t. Many artistes have what others don’t; a tonne load of luck. A supportive family. And big breaks that completely change their lives. Not all artistes do. Some struggle and grind for years to get where they want to be. I sometimes think I fall into the latter category. And although I’m thankful. Just like anyone else, I wish it had happened earlier.
I can’t wait to film the music video for Cheetah and I hope you guys like it
